چکیده
BACKGROUND The aim of the study was to determine the effect of gene polymorphisms Arg389Gly ADRβ1 gene and T393C gene GNAS1 on the level of heart rate (HR), systolic and diastolic blood pressure (SBP and DBP) in hypertensive patients according to body mass index (BMI). PATIENTS AND METHODS The study involved 166 patients with hypertension and 90 healthy individuals. Patients of the main group was divided according to BMI into three subgroups: I subgroup--with normal body weight, II subgroup--overweight, II subgroup--obesity. Gene polymorphism is determined using polymerase chain reaction and subsequent analysis of restriction fragments. RESULTS Patients from subgroups II and III, who had presence of genotypes Arg389Arg, Arg389Gly, had higher HR, SBP than in patients with genotype Gly389Gly (p = 0.010 and p = 0.001; p = 0.010 and p = 0.001, respectively). In the analysis of DBP, the dependence of its level of polymorphism Arg389Gly of ADRβ1 gene was found only in I subgroup (p < 0.001). During the analysis of polymorphism T393C of GNAS1 gene only in patients from III subgroup was found a higher heart rate in patients with T393T genotype relatively to C393C genotype, but this difference was not statistically significant (p = 0.191). CONCLUSION There is a direct correlation between HR and SBP in hypertensive patients with overweight and obesity from polymorphism Arg389Gly of ADRβ1 gene, in hypertensive patients with normal body weight from this polymorphism depends DBP. Clinical manifestations of hypertension do not depend on polymorphism T393C of GNAS1 gene.

Background: Calcium channel blockers are important group of drugs that have been used in the treatment of a variety of cardiovascular diseases especially hypertension. In this study we have investigated the effects of three newly synthetized ester analogs of nifedipine (Compounds No. 1, 2 and 3) compared to nifedipine on mean arterial pressure, dp/dt (cardiac contractility index) and heart ra...

The role of nucleus tractus solitarius (NTS) in cardiovascular system regulation is controversial. On the other hand, the problem of hypertension in diabetic animals is the subject of many research programs. The aim of present study was to determine whether inactivation of NTS could affect blood pressure and heart rate in diabetic rats. To this end, stereptozotocin induced diabetic rats were an...

Background and Aim: Intratracheal suctioning is a standard method of nursing care for intubated patients with the aim of cleaning airway for good oxygenation. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of intratracheal suctioning on blood pressure, heart rate, and arterial oxygen saturation. Materials and Methods: This was a semi-experimental research in which the patients admitted t...

متن کاملThe effect of progressive aerobic continuous training on angiotensin-1, angiotensin-2 and angiotensin-converting enzyme type 2 in patients with heart failure
Background: Chronic hypertension causes structural and functional changes in the heart, ultimately leading to heart failure (HF), which further increases mortality and morbidit. HF is a complex clinical syndrome caused by various structural or functional abnormalities of the heart that impair the filling capacity of the ventricles. The findings of various trials have shown the association betwe...
